Behind the screen

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there!!

A little about the person behind Anchor89.

Fantasy portrait of Mark, Anchor89

My name is Mark.

I was born and raised on the beautiful Oregon Coast. I discovered computers in 1979 and D&D in 1980, and I've been playing and running games ever since.

My love for computers has always driven me to find ways to use technology to help me run, organize, and enhance my games. That passion grew to the point where I ran a local TTRPG-focused BBS — yes, before there was an Internet! When the Internet came along, my gaming world widened even further.

I've run and played far too many games to list in this bio. I've been playing and running Pathfinder 2e for close to seven years now, and the transition to online tabletop gaming was a natural one for me.

Pathfinder has become my game of choice, and I love both the game and the company that makes it.

I live in Oregon with my wonderful family. I have three grown children and two energetic grandsons. And, of course, I am owned by three cats, who have graciously given me permission to pursue this venture — as long as I keep the catnip flowing.

Welcome, I'm Anchor89. Let's roll some dice, and may all your hits be crits!!

The Brass Dragon — Guardian of the Servers

Your game doesn't end when the session does.

I run six separate Foundry VTT servers around the clock. That means the table is there between sessions for character work, journals, planning, exploring, and all the little pieces that make a campaign feel like a place rather than a weekly appointment.
